Our Story
The Inception
Our Founders started working in the custom clothing industry over 20 years ago and very quickly realized that after overhauling a client’s wardrobe, a lot of professional clothing was either being discarded or donated with no real purpose in mind. As someone who could not afford nice business attire when first entering the work force, Viktoria thought of a concept that would combine their professional expertise with the generosity of clients by collecting clothing to give back. But what would they do with this clothing? As fate would have it, Viktoria, Pam, and Lesly were on a plane heading home from a fun-in-the-sun vacation and were seated next to the Executive Director of a local Boys & Girls Club. The idea was pitched, and the rest was history. A one-day event called Project Pinstripe was born!

What Makes Project Pinstripe So Unique?
What separates Project Pinstripe from other charities offering similar programs is that participants are given the opportunity to work with our team, which is made up of some of the leading professionals in the world of men’s custom clothing. The stylists teaching and fitting our participants have been working in the industry for decades! Also, our leadership team is made up of three professional women who are experts in the men’s clothing business. With our combined 60 years of experience in the industry, our knowledge is sought after by CEO’s and top professionals in a broad range of industries in New York City and the surrounding areas.
The Project Pinstripe Event
Once a year Project Pinstripe, together with a partnering 501c3 organization, will host a one-day event. The highlight of the event will feature a suit fitting by an expert stylist during which each participant will choose from a wide array of donated suits, shirts, and ties. The suit will then be tailored to properly fit the participant. In addition, an expert in the field will provide an educational workshop on etiquette and how to properly wear and maintain professional business attire. This will be followed by a class outlining appropriate interview techniques. The overall service will provide coaching on the importance of a positive first impression, helping its participants gain the look and confidence needed to reach their professional goals. The event will close with all participants “dressed for success” in their own tailored “power outfit.”
